The new wing on Polk Hall will add three floors of research space to the Department of Molecular & Structural Biochemistry. The basement houses analytical laboratories for Mass Spectrometry, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometry and X-ray Crystallography all devoted to large bio-molecules. The basement also houses the conference room and laboratory for The Jimmy V Foundation Training Program in Cancer Therapeutics. The first and third floors contain laboratories for research in basic biochemistry. In addition the third floor has a Bio-containment Level 3 Laboratory which will allow investigators to do research on human pathogens. |
