Here we see a breakdown of the public assistance and related programs. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) represents $23.6 billion or 1.56% of the total budget. Cut it? Some of it?

Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) cost $17.1 billion in 1995 representing 1.13% of the total budget. The majority of these funds are received by single parent females with children. Cut it? Cut some of it? What?

Low Income Home Energy Assistance runs $1.4 billion or .092% of the federal budget. These funds are granted to means tested low income individuals or families to assist primarily with home heating. Cut it? Cut some? Modify it? Let me know?
