Homework #6 -- Internal Cross-Sections
6 points
Due by Monday, October 5, 2009 or at
the beginning of class on Tuesday, October 6, 2009.
Complete your cross-section drawings of head, thorax, and abdomen by showing and labeling the location of major internal organs and related structures. Be sure to include all relevant parts of the digestive, circulatory, respiratory, reproductive, and nervous systems. Start with a fresh (clean) copy of your external cross-sections (you may need to redo these). Ask for help if you need it. Neatness counts.
Tips for drawing:
1. Insects are bilaterally symmetrical; your drawings should be too!
2. Use crosshatching, stippling, shading, or color to distinguish various structures.
3. Some body parts are thick, others are thin -- vary your line width accordingly.
Submit your answers in class (preferably) or e-mail to john_meyer@ncsu.edu
If you choose to submit via e-mail, save your drawings in PDF format.
If you are not set up to make PDF's, send your file in .gif or .jpg format (no larger than 800 x 1000 px).
