Homework #7 -- Monarch Migration
Due by Monday, October 22, 2012.
Monarch butterflies, Danaus plexippus, are among the most popular and best known of all North American insects. Thousands of them migrate through North Carolina each fall en route to their overwintering grounds in Mexico. But the future of this species is precarious. In this assignment, you will view three lessons about the Monarch's life cycle and behavior.  To access the lessons, first login to Moodle and then click on each of the links below. After finishing all three lessons, take a short quiz about the topic in order to earn your homework points. A link to that quiz is at the bottom of this page (this is NOT a proctored quiz so you may take it at any time).
Part I: Life cycle and development.
Part II: Migration and overwintering sites.
Part III: Navigation and biological clocks.
