Key Characters:
Silk moths have thick and hairy bodies with a wing span that can range over six inches. The wings have dark eye spots. The characteristics of the antenna varies, but can be bipectinate or feathery. Most of the time, the males have a large antennae. The larvae are covered in tubercles and spines, while the pupae are wrapped in silk cocoons that are attached to twigs and leaves. |
