General Description:

There are four distinct research projects in our lab, all of which deal with aspects of the ecology and evolution of insects. Two of the projects have direct practical goals while the other two are driven more by basic scientific curiosity.

1) Evolution of Resistance in Crop Pests
2) Autocidal Control
3) Plant-Insect Interactions
4) Sexual Communication in Insects

We approach these broad topics from a variety of angles including field studies, molecular studies, genetic analysis, biogeography, computer simulations, and mathematical modeling.
