Research Assistantship - MS
GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP, M.S. – Investigate the biology and management
of Plectris aliena (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae), a white grub pest of sweetpotato. Excellent
opportunities exist to combine applied and basic research on a little known but important
agricultural pest. Studies will include examining basic biology and landscape ecology of
this insect with a focus on developing effective, environmentally sustainable and economical
management strategies. This position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to receive
training that will provide a high quality foundation for a career in applied entomology/integrated
pest management in academia or industry.
Qualifications: B.S. in Entomology, Biology, Horticulture, Crop Science or similar discipline. Highly motivated individuals with superior academic credentials are encouraged to apply.
Assistantship: This 100% research assistantship provides an $18500.00 stipend, tuition payment, and medical benefits. Funding has been secured for 2 years.
