Jean Carter is a recipient of the Cooperative Extension 2009 Secretary Award of Excellence. Seven awards are made each year: one for each Extension District and one for campus. The awards are based on outstanding contributions to Cooperative Extension through enhancement of the organization’s image through positive interaction with other Extension personnel across the district and state, private and government agencies and other clientele; exceptional customer service and technology skills; and a high degree of professionalism. Jean was then selected from among the seven awardees to be the top recipient . She received a plaque, certificate and a $200.00 check presented by Dr. Jon Ort, Associate Dean for CALS and Director of the NC Cooperative Extension.
