Dr. Robert Jetton is the recipient of the 2009 Roger F. Anderson Memorial Outstanding Graduate Student Award. This award is sponsored by the Southern Forest Insect Work Conference. Robert will receive a plaque and check in recognition of this impressive achievement in forest entomology.
Robert studied with Dr. Fred Hain at North Carolina State University and received his Ph.D. in Entomology with Forestry Co-Major in December 2008 (dissertation title: "Biological control, host resistance, and vegetative propagation: strategies and tools for the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid, /Adelges tsugae/ Annand"). Robert has a BS in Biology from Furman University and a MS in Forestry with Entomology Co-Major from North Carolina State University. Among his many accomplishments are six refereed publications (four as senior author), 25 oral and poster presentations at national and regional scientific conferences, and three invited presentations/guest lectures.
