Graduate training in my lab ranges from very applied projects on the development and application of the principles of Integrated pest management in the structural environment to fundamental research on arthropod biology.
Applied projects: Students can conduct research on alternative pest management strategies such as biological and physical control, IPM in structures (residences, schools, animal production facilities, etc.), pesticide resistance and its management, and the impact of urbanization on arthropod communities.
Basic projects: Behavioral, ecological, and physiological research on cockroaches, including intraspecific chemical communication, behavioral endocrinology, regulation of foraging behavior and feeding, and population genetics. A list of current projects, including collaborative projects on other arthropods, is available under Research.
Financial support may be in the form of Fellowships, Graduate Assistantships, or Teaching Assistantships.
