Foaling Internship

Foaling interns are responsible for staying overnight to monitor mares when they approach their due date.
Interns learn how to get the mare ready for foaling by cleaning her up, wrapping her tail, and implanting a foal alert.
A combination of monitors inside the classroom, web cameras, and overnight stays give interns the chance to see a mare foal.
Interns are responsible for imprinting the foal for the first few days of life. This gets the foals used to human contact and being handled.
