As most of our Alumni know, the department, in conjunction with the social and recreation committee, holds several social events throughout the year -– some every year and some as needed or appropriate. As always, we welcome and hope to see as many of our alumni as possible during these events. Some of these events are:

Summer

NC State Breakfast at IFT
The Department’s Alumni Breakfast is held each year at the Institute of Food Technologists annual meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity to get reacquainted with both past and present students, faculty, and staff. The departmental Alumni awards are also presented at this time. You may sign up for the 2009 breakfast in California in your IFT registration package. Questions contact Paige Luck at pcjordan@unity.ncsu.edu.

Spring

Pancake breakfast – fundraiser (usually in February)
Hot dog luncheon – fundraiser (usually in April)

Fall

Fall kick-off – to welcome new students (usually in late August or early September)
Employee appreciation breakfast/lunch (usually in September)
Spookghetti lunch (close to Halloween)
Holiday lunch (usually in early December)
