Announcing
The Dalton and Ruby Proctor Clover Courtyard and
State Council Walkway
at the
Eastern 4-H Environmental Education Center

Come Grow with Us!

The Eastern 4-H Environmental Education Conference Center is now being constructed in Northeastern North Carolina! Nestled amid wetlands and forests on 242 acres on beautiful Bull’s Bay in Tyrrell County, this center is being built as a working example of ecologically sensitive construction and systems.

Imagine…a place for growing…where children, teens and adults questions explore, observe and find answers. Imagine…a place for growing…where youth and adults walk through forests of maples and ash trees to pristine waterways and natural wetlands, where you challenge yourself on our ropes courses, relax in your cabin in the youth village, increase your awareness of nature at a class in our adult conference center.

Imagine…a special place for growing…a place for reflecting at dawn or dusk, a place for celebrating an excellent week at camp or a thrilling two-day environmental program.

At the heart of this special place for growing is our Dalton and Ruby Proctor Clover Courtyard and State Council Walkway, designed to be a special place itself.

a special place where 4-H clubs can honor their leaders, where parents can honor their 4-H’ers, where 4-H’ers can honor their parents, where alumni can honor 4-H friends, where counties can honor their agents.

… a special place where friends and family can honor the memory of parent, child, or 4-H friend.

We are pleased to announce that retired Assistant Director and State 4-H Leader, Dr. Dalton Proctor, and his wife, Ruby, have made a lead gift to help create this wonderful vision for the entire 4-H family to honor individuals who made a difference in our 4-H lives. The State 4-H Council has accepted the challenge of leading the walkway phase of the project. This special place will become a reality one brick and one bench at a time…as we honor those who have made that difference in our lives. Parents might honor 4-H’ers;
4-H’ers might honor parents, leaders, Extension workers or another significant person.
If you choose, you may provide the name of your 4-H Club and County.
