Applying for Graduate Studies in GeneticsCandidates for graduate work should have a bachelor's degree in biological, agricultural, physical or mathematical science
and a basic understanding of biological principles and processes.
Plan Ahead! A completed application for admission requires the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores for the Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical portions (Advanced Test not required), two official transcripts from each college/university attended, three letters of reference and a statement of plans. The Department of Genetics requires very strong quantitative and analytical GRE scores. International applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). International student applicants must have TOEFL scores of 100 (Internet-Based Test), 250 (Computer-Based Test), or 600 (Paper-Based Test) or higher to demonstrate your ability to handle the demands of our graduate program.
