Horticulture Club
The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) team is a group of approximately
20 people with an interest in the horticulture and landscape industries. We
compete in many different events. They include Perennial and Annual
ID, Weed and Turf ID, Truck and Trailer Operation, Sale Presentation, Personnel
Management, Arboriculture, Wood Construction, and Patio Construction to name
a few. The list totals between 20 and 25 different events in which
students compete. This is a national competition that brings more than 50
colleges and universities together in competition and gives students a chance
to look for future employment and internships at the large career fair. Brian Jackson, Bryce Lane,
and Anne Spafford are our advisors for this club activity.
An ALCA team member competes in the Arboriculture Contest.
The Landscape Installation Contest is another one of the very practical
events
at the ALCA competition.
