At the request of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Congo, Dr. Bob Patterson and Dennis Delong visited that country April 18-25, 2007. As a result, focus is being directed on food crop production constraints and development of aquaculture in that country. CALS has also received a donation of 60 desktop computers from SAS Institute to be given to the Congo Ministry of Agriculture.

The State of North Carolina is partnered with the State of Cochabamba in Bolivia through the Partners of the America Organization. A current priority for CALS is to assist the Bolivians in the Anzaldo Valley region to develop new strategies for food production and improve of human nutrition.
