JOHN LOVE
Research Associate, NCSU-NSCORT
Department of Botany, N.C. State University

Research Interests:

I am interested in the manner by which cells perceive, communicate and integrate environmental signals. I focus primarily on Ca2+- and calmodulin-mediated signal transduction in plant cells, and use molecular, biochemical and high-resolution imaging technology to address these questions.

Teaching Interests:

  • Active participant in NSCORT community outreach
  • Wrote and instructed the Molecular Biology component of "Plants, Gravity & Space"
  • Lectures on Biotechnology for N.C. teacher accreditation
  • Supervised undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory
  • Supervisor for Jane Roche's Masters thesis (France), summer 2000
  • Undergraduate lectures ("The Origins of Life")
