Brief Biosketch:

Jenora Waterman is a native of Los Angeles, California. In 1993, Jenora received her diploma from David Starr Jordan High School in Los Angeles, California. As a United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Scholar, Jenora pursued and obtained a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina in May 1997, graduating magna cum laude. Following graduation from Bennett College, Jenora taught biology and physical science at Walter Hines Page Sr. High School in Greensboro, NC. In 2001, Jenora complete the Master of Science degree (Biology) at North Carolina A & T State University. Jenora's MS thesis was entitled, 'Expression of the cyclooxygenase-2 gene by bacterial lipopolysaccharide stimulated bovine neutrophils.' This research project assessed the role of cyclooxygenase-2 metabolites, namely prostaglandins, in the severity and duration of bovine mastitis. Jenora is currently a Ph.D. student (Functional Genomics) in the Lab of Dr. David M. Bird, North Carolina State University.
