Projects:

• Perturbation of calcium Homeostasis in transgenic tobacco cells (NT1) over-expressing maize calreticulin, an ER calcium-storage protein

Research Interest:

• The role of Ca²⁺ in cellular signaling
• Development of novel tools to perturb Ca²⁺ homeostasis in plant cells

Other Research Experience:

• Graduate Research Assistant, NSCORT program, Dr. Wendy F. BOss laBOratory, Department of Plant Biology, North Carolina State University (1995 – 2001)
• NSCORT/NASA fellowship to investigate signal transduction in response to gravistimulation in plants (1998 – 2000).
• Extended funding fall 1997 to continue characterization of the plasma membrane Ca²⁺-ATPase from spinach.
• MS in plant biochemistry from Lund University (1994 – 1997), supervised by Dr. Marianne Sommarin and Dr. Per Askerlund.
