While my passion lies in evolutionary studies, I am currently conducting an exciting ecological experiment on an agricultural system. I am trying to understand how abiotic stress can affect biotic responses in the plant-herbivore interactions of soybeans. Using a number of soybean varieties, I will try to gauge how drought and temperature increases can impact the relationship between the plants and insect herbivores. I hope that the results of this experiment will be a stepping-stone for addressing questions regarding the future of our food supply in light of climate change.
