APPLICATION CHECKLIST
A complete application consists of the following:
- Online application form
- One (1) official transcripts from each college/university attended (send to the Graduate School, address listed below)
- Personal Statement
- Resume
- Three letters of recommendation (*see note below)
- Official GRE scores: Use institution code 5496.
- Official TOEFL scores or IELTS scores

Students that seek admission to the graduate program in NCSU Plant Pathology starting in the Fall semester are encouraged to submit their applications in late Fall of the previous year for optimal consideration.
Students are also encouraged to identify and communicate with faculty of interest to discuss potential graduate study.
JAN. 15 - Deadline for applications for students that wished to be considered for assistantship, fellowship, or other form of financial assistance for graduate study.
MID-FEBRUARY - Promising student recruits visit NCSU Plant Pathology as a group.
MARCH - Offers of acceptance for admission to promising students begin.
JUNE - Final date to apply for Fall semester admission via the Graduate School.

GRE
All applicants are required to submit official GRE scores to the Graduate School. For information on taking the GRE visit the GRE Web site.

TOEFL
International students must submit a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the internet-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or at least a 550 on the paper-based test. The TOEFL is valid for only two years. International students who have completed one full year of full-time study in the United States are not required to submit TOEFL scores. IELTS
Accept IELTS in lieu of TOEFL. Accept with a 6.5 band and subscores of at least 6.5 for Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
