About the Ornamental
Workshop ...
The Ornamental Workshop has served as
a forum for plant pathologists and entomologists to discuss current
disease and insect problems facing those concerned with the production,
maintenance and regulation of ornamental crops. The informal atmosphere provided by the rustic setting at the NC Forest
Service Training Facility, Crossnore, NC, saw participation grow
from about 10 participants in 1976, to over 150 in 2004.
In 2004, the Ornamental Workshop
changed venues to the mountain retreat facilities at the Kanuga Conference
Center near Hendersonville, NC. The facilities at the Kanuga Conference
Center are ideal for the workshop and have allowed us to increase the
number of participants who can be accommodated. As a preview of the
Kanuga Conference Center facilities, please take the virtual
tour.
