Plants, Pests, and Pathogens
Plants, Pests and Pathogens is an in-service training program for Horticulture Extension Agents and Extension Master Gardeners
.
The Plants, Pests, and Pathogen sessions will be conducted on the fourth Tuesday of February, April, June, August, and October 2013 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Every session includes a discussion of current plant disease and insect problems by the Plant Disease and Insect Clinic's Mike Munster and an Entomologist.

Last Year's Agent Training in Plant Disease Diagnosis
May and June, 2012
The Plant Disease and Insect Clinic (PDIC) and the Department of Plant Pathology conducted introductory training in plant disease diagnosis for County Agents in May and June of 2012. The training consisted of two Elluminate live sessions covering the basics of plant disease diagnosis followed by an all-day hands-on workshop. Recordings of the Elluminate sessions are open to everyone.

Plant Disease Diagnosis: hands-on workshop
Twenty participants examined plant diseases and disorders on live material in the laboratory and in the landscape, and learned simple diagnostic techniques that County Agents can use in the field or at their office. Agents toured the PDIC and “walked through” the process of diagnosing a clinic sample.

Nursery and Greenhouse Water Treatment and Quality Workshop
January 26, 2012 in Davidson and Huntersville, NC
North Carolina State University, Clemson University, and the University of Florida have pooled resources to bring growers and County Agents a VERY informative regional workshop on treatment of irrigation water for woody ornamental and floriculture plant production. The workshop will feature REAL growers and REAL water treatment situations to show and discuss, plus a panel of specialists. Click here
