Undergraduate Programs

As an undergraduate, you need to obtain a basic understanding of the world around you. Whether you decide to follow a technology or science degree track in Poultry Science, during your first two years at NCSU you will be take basic courses in English, biology, chemistry, math, genetics, zoology, etc. Gaining proficiency in a second language is also encouraged during this time.

Graduate Study

A broad range of both practical and basic research is conducted by students during the course of their graduate studies. Graduate students can obtain Masters and/or Ph.D. degrees with majors in Poultry Science, Nutrition, Physiology, Immunology, Toxicology, or Food Science, while being mentored by faculty members in Poultry Science. Minors can be obtained in a number of areas as well, including biotechnology, microbiology, food safety, etc.

ABM Program

The Poultry Science BS-Masters degree program is designed to provide Poultry Science students in the Science Curriculum with a means of completing the requirements for both degrees within a period of 5 or 5 1/2 years depending on the choice of curriculum. The combined degree program provides an opportunity for exceptional undergraduate students at NC State to double count up to 12 credits and obtain a non-thesis Master's degree in the same field within 12 months of completing the Baccalaureate degree or obtain a thesis based Master's degree in the same field within 18 months of completing the Baccalaureate degree.
