Minutes Poultry Science Club Meeting 8/24/04
The meeting opened with everyone introducing themselves. Katie began at the front of the room and moved towards the back. Each individual stated their name, major, and where they were from. We had a good turnout with 30 people and one dog in attendance.
After everyone had been properly introduced, Ashley presented a slide show of pictures from the past year. Unfortunately, Dr. Pardue was not present so technical difficulties could not be solved. The slide show included pictures of the judging team, Atlanta, the fair, and farm animal days. There was also a picture of Matt and Marty engaging in odd behavior clad only in undergarments.
Following the slide show, Katie called on Cameron to say grace. Cameron provided us with a very nice prayer to get the year off to a good start. As mentioned previously, Dr. Pardue was not present to complain.
After the food was blessed everyone lined up to eat. Sarah Walters and Stacy Sink provided dinner. The poppy seed chicken was excellent with plenty to go around. The green beans were gone by the time I got there so they must have been fairly decent as well. Biscuits and Jello rounded out the meal. Some individuals were a little bit wary of the Jello due to past experience with this product.
After everyone had sated their appetite we moved to officer reports. Marty talked about T-shirt sales at the State Fair. He also talked about recruitment scheduled it for fall break.
The secretary’s report was solely devoted to the points system. John made the points system sound so harsh that some people had looks of horror on their faces. Dr. Parkhurst had to step in a remind everyone that the trip would be fun.
Cameron explained that the club currently has $1,645.67. He also pointed out that we still have hats and shirts to sell.
Sarah talked about the upcoming club room cleanup. In addition she talked about the social at Dr. Parkhurst residence on September, 2. Dr. Parkhurst expressed a concern about construction making it difficult to reach his home. Katie said we should enjoy this social because it may be the last at said location.
