Description

These workshops will cover the use of conservation easements as well as tax incentives, programs, laws, regulations, and assistance that provide opportunities for agencies, non-profit organizations, landowners and others to preserve land.

They are intended to fill the general education needs of landowners, cooperative extension personnel, federal and state agency officials, and employees of non-profit organizations who are interested or are working in the area of land preservation/conservation.

These workshops are also designed to advance the skills and knowledge base of appraisers, attorneys, foresters, and other professionals that provide consulting, management, legal, valuation, or other services of interest to landowners. The objective is to provide these professionals with the ability to explain and assist landowners with initiating and/or maintaining various land preservation options. Additionally, professionals will be able to use non-profit and governmental resources that are available to support them as they provide services to landowners.

Format: Lecture
Workshop Level: Advanced
Prerequisites: Experience with real estate transactional issues is helpful but not required.
