On the occasion of his retirement from North Carolina State University, the Department of Animal Science is establishing the Roger and Phyllis McCraw Animal Science Scholarship Endowment in The North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, Inc. The endowment is created to honor the legacy of an outstanding teacher, advisor and administrator and to encourage and reward superior academic achievement and leadership potential among Animal Science majors who also possess financial need.

The income of this endowment will be used to provide need-based scholarships for students enrolled in the Department of Animal Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University.

Awards from this endowment will be made to one or more students and will be for one academic year.

  • The awards will be for Animal Science majors with financial need who demonstrate leadership and future potential through:
    • participation in the Animal Science Club, Agri-Life Council, or other appropriate NC State student organizations,
    • promising efforts in faculty-approved research,
    • superior academic performance
