In the Garden with Bryce Lane nominated for award
The N.C. State University-produced show In the Garden with Bryce Lane has been nominated for a regional EMMY® Award. There were nearly 700 entries that resulted in nominations for 70 companies in 72 categories. A complete list of nominees is online at www.emmyonline.org/nashville.
In the Garden is produced by Communication Services at North Carolina State University. Bryce Lane, host and instructor in N.C. State’s Horticultural Science Department, brings more than 28 years of teaching experience to television. The production team includes videographer/editor Simone Keith, producer Sonya Williams Harris and graphic artist John Vanaman. The show airs Saturdays at noon on UNC-TV.
In the Garden is the only show of its kind currently offered in North Carolina. The show is both an entertaining television series and a horticulture distance education course. Viewers can register for the course to earn college credit.
The Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced the nominations for the 25th Annual Midsouth Regional Emmy® Awards at a reception on Nov. 19 in Nashville, Tenn. Winners will be announced during a live telecast from the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville on Jan. 29.
NATAS is a non-profit, professional organization dedicated to fostering excellence in television. The academy has 19 chapters with 15,000 members nationwide. The Nashville/Midsouth Region includes portions of North Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama.
