Undergraduate Courses

The Department of Plant Pathology offers two undergraduate courses :

PP315, Principles of Plant Pathology (4 credits) and PP318, Forest Pathology (3 credits). Both courses satisfy the plant protection requirement for the undergraduate curricula in the Departments of Crop Science, Horticultural Science, and Forest Resources.

PP315 presents fundamental principles of plant pathology with emphasis on disease etiology, pathogenesis, ecology of host/parasite interaction, epidemiology and current strategies and practices for integrated disease control.

PP318 deals with the major diseases of forest trees and deteriorations of wood products. Emphasis is on principles of plant pathology, disease diagnoses, host/pathogen interactions, pathogen biology, and practices of disease management.
